Christopher Kojzar’s newest work, Dance in Place, has officially been installed in downtown Burlington, Vermont—bringing with it both beauty and meaning. This vibrant sculpture is more than a striking addition to the cityscape; it’s a tribute to Burlington’s queer community and its history.

We were honored to collaborate with Kojzar in bringing his vision to life. Our team fabricated the stainless steel rings and painted aluminum figures that animate the sculpture, giving the dancers a sense of movement and connection. The result is a piece that feels both joyful and grounded, a celebration of resilience and community.

The sculpture’s details carry layers of significance. With designs from Studio Projects, historical graphics from Vermont’s queer history, and contributions from three local organizations, Dance in Place is a true community effort. Each element reflects a shared story—honoring the past, uplifting the present, and inspiring future generations.

The city will host a formal dedication on October 2nd, a moment to gather, reflect, and celebrate together. We look forward to standing alongside the Burlington community to honor this powerful addition to the city’s public art collection.
