Several years ago, a remarkable symbol of craftsmanship and creativity took its place in front of Smyth Jewelers in Timonium, Maryland — a 17-foot stainless-steel engagement ring, fabricated and finished right here at A.R.T. Research.
This monumental piece quickly became a local landmark, drawing attention from visitors and passersby alike for its scale, precision, and polish. What started as a creative concept now stands as proof of the enduring beauty and resilience of large-scale metalwork.
Recently, our team revisited the sculpture for on-site conservation work, giving the stainless-steel surface a renewed gleam and ensuring the piece continues to shine just as brilliantly as it did on installation day. Projects like this highlight the longevity and care that go into public artworks — and the importance of preserving them for future generations to enjoy.
As we look back on this collaboration with Smyth Jewelers, we’re proud to celebrate not only the craftsmanship that brought it to life but also the continued partnership and stewardship that keep it looking its best.
Here’s to many more years of sparkle in Timonium!
