Installed at the Tech/Rec Community Center in Fort Washington, Maryland, The Butterfly Tree by artist Judy Sutton Moore stands as a radiant symbol of renewal and growth. Crafted in stainless steel, this striking sculpture pays homage to the site’s past as a thriving community garden, transforming that legacy into a permanent, uplifting form.

The journey from concept to completion was a true collaboration. Judy’s vision was brought to life through a seamless process of shop drawings, hands-on fabrication, and precise installation. Our team worked side by side with Judy, refining the design and ensuring every element—particularly the carefully positioned butterflies—was crafted and installed with intention and care.

This sculpture doesn’t just reflect nature—it mirrors the community spirit that once cultivated the land beneath it. The Butterfly Tree now invites reflection, hope, and joy for all who pass by, honoring both past and future with every glint of light it catches.
